Pete Brown

Pete began his career in infrastructure, working in high-voltage lines, before relocating to Sydney, Australia, where he became a qualified carpenter. While in Sydney, he gained extensive experience working on high-end home renovations and apartment builds. He also founded and operated a successful property maintenance company, assisting clients with everything from small repairs to large-scale upgrades. Pete later returned to Nelson with his wife Jess, who also has a background in property, and brought his expertise home to co-found VB Build.

Matt Vining

Matt has been passionate about building since his early teens. After completing a building trade course and apprenticeship in Nelson, he built a solid reputation for his work on renovations and custom builds, especially those involving older homes with unique structural challenges. He continues to enjoy hands-on work and brings strong project oversight and problem-solving skills to every job. Outside of work, Matt enjoys home renovation projects alongside his partner Holly, mountain biking and sailing.
